Changing Nameservers on godaddy.com

Updating your URL or domain name to point to your website hosted at Roberts Web Design is a simple process at godaddy.com. Below are simple step-by-step instructions for logging in and changing the nameservers so your new website will show up using the domain name you already have. The process takes just a few seconds, and you should see your new site in a matter of a few hours after making the change.

godaddy login screen for My domains Step 1. Log into your account at godaddy.com and click the My Domains under the Domains tab on the top left.

 

 

   

domain information screen on godaddy Step2. Find your domain name in the list and click on it. Now you will see the Domain Manager for your domain. Under the Nameservers heading in the lower left, click the Manage link.

 

 

 

 

  

  nameserver update screen on godaddy.com Step 3. Once the popup box opens, type in the two nameservers which were included in the email you received for your new hosting account. In this case, it's ns3.robertswebdesign.net and ns4.robertswebdesign.net.

 

 

  

 

 Step 4. Click OK and your done! Please NOTE that your domain can take up to 48 hours to propagate across the internet, but normally the domain will propagate within just a few hours. It's a good idea to create a post on your new site if possible to let yourself know that the new site is showing.
