Joomla 2.5 has been out for just over 2 years now, and has finally reached End of Life (EoL) as of December 31, 2014. Many site owners have recently seen a red notice at the top of their Joomla Administration Control Panel that states "Joomla! 2.5 Support Ended On December 31, 2014! Click Here for More Information".

The first thing you need to know is, don't panic, you have time to make the upgrade to Joomla 3, and your site should be secure if you are using the latest Joomla 2.5.28 release. But it is time to take action and start planning your migration to Joomla 3. Read on to find out what you need to do.

Many of my client websites require an image gallery to show multiple images sorted by category or album. One of my favorite options is the Joomla Component JoomGallery. It offers a great rotating image module, automatic thumbnail resize and the ability to show the large images in a popup, lightbox or slideshow window. Joom Gallery is currently available for Joomla 2.5 and Joomla 3.4.
